Snorkeling with Mike:
If you want a private snorkeling tour that is a great time this is it! When you go out with Mike on the boat, the idea of a corporate feel is out the window. Mike is great, wonderful captain, always smiling and joking and Mike is so much of what makes this tour. The tour runs about 5-6 hours.
Mike takes you to different places where the underwater beauty is especially amazing, protected waters by the Mexican government. You have to have a special permit for this, the vast majority of tours do not have this permit for the first place that Mike takes you to. The underwater beauty there is so beautiful.
Another area Mike takes you to is very shallow so you can walk around about waist high and go under to view beautiful tropical fish. This part is great for younger kids. Mike also takes you to Isla Mujeres. This is a small island, no motorized vehicles are allowed there. This island is where you will have lunch which is included. Alcoholic drinks during lunch are not included. Mike also makes every effort to provide you with a golf cart rental on him. However he cannot guarantee this as sometimes the carts are sold out. Even if you are not able to get the golf carts, and usually he is able to, you can still enjoy the shops on the island and it's a nice break from the day out on the water.
The other nice thing about going out with Mike is the flexibility. For example, while we were cruising along once I asked Mike if he could stop the boat. All it was is that the water was so beautiful, so clear, just incredible. I wanted to stop so I could see the bottom, and you can from even 10 meters or more! Then we all jumped in and had a quick swim, great break from the heat. This is to give you an idea of how Mike is just great. He can be flexible, he wants you to have fun. We didn't ask for snorkeling gear, we just wanted to dive in for a few minutes. No big deal with Mike!

Round trip transportation.

Typical pick up times from the resort is 9am, you can request an earlier pick up, as early as 8am. But no later than 9am please. They will call you when they are in the lobby. One hour time windows for pick up.

Fishing with Mike:
Mike's family comes from many generations of fisherman. It wasn't until the advent of Cancun as a tourist destination that Mike's family entered the snorkeling business. And when you do this fishing tour, it will be evident very quickly that Mike knows exactly what he is doing. I'm not a fisherman, its not my thing. But I wanted to see what this tour was about and it was so interesting to me. After Mike finds his favorite spot, he takes a hook and some fishing line, no fishing pole mind you, just his gloves. Then he puts a worm on the hook and in seconds he has a small fish, which he quickly throws in his bucket of water and repeats the process. In minutes his bucket is full of live fish, about 1/4 pound to 1/2 pound fish. Then, he takes breaks out the fishing poles and puts a live fish on each line. Unreal, i've never seen anything like it before in my life. In minutes we were catching Baracuda. A few minutes later we had caught other species, I don't recall their names, but very unique looking fish. The fish we caught were anywhere between 3 pounds to about 12 pounds. It was really quite amazing.
If you like fishing, I think you will really enjoy this tour. Its similar to the snorkeling. You don't go out to sea, you stay in the bay, which is quite large and has plenty of fish.
